Dear Ina, I'm not very experienced growing Cyrtanthus elatus, but have had them for a few years. My potted ones seem to flower best when they are not kept evenly moist- perhaps they need to go through a dry-wet cycle, or perhaps I just got lucky! My pot was hidden in the greenhouse last winter and got quite dry, and once it was moved outside and could get wetter in the spring rains, it flowered profusely. Does anyone know how long seed are viable? I have some seed from last fall, but they've been in the greenhouse all summer, so perhaps they've cooked....
