By far my best performer among the colchicums is C. autumnale album, that is bulking up nicely here, there, and everywhere. A more recent addition is the vibrant pink-purple C. a. 'Nancy Lindsey', that bids fair to be just as vigorous. C. speciosum is also fine; C. agrippinum okay but not as vigorous. Also, I've just moved Sternbergia lutea outdoors from a coldframe situation.
