Buried Treasures: The Nature and Art of Bulbs is on display in the Gallery of the LuEsther T. Mertz Library of the New York Botanical Garden from October 7, 2006 through January 7, 2007. It is, alas, not a traveling exhibition, so this is the only place where it can be seen. The check lists are available to attendees at no charge. Photography is not permitted in the Gallery. I will be at NYBG leading gallery tours on Saturday, October 21 at 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, November 2 at 11:00 a.m. (Garden Writers Region I meeting, but public is welcome) and on Saturday, November 18, I believe also at 2:30 p.m. If anyone knows for sure when they'll be there, send me a private e-mail and I'll see if we can meet. But it is an 83 mile / close to 2 hour drive each way, so no promises. It is a splendid show with fabulous botanical art from books we hardly every have a chance to see. Do visit if you have the opportunity. I've been working on this exhibition since November 2005. There are some glimpses on my web site, should anyone want to take a look, in with other entries for these months.
