I don't seem to have a problem with gophers eating my eucomis either. This brings up an off-subject question for some us newbies. Is there any kind of list, that has been published, of gopher, vole, ground squirrel, 'proof' garden bulbs; common and exotic? I'm sure the list is limited, but I have a problem area. After every eradication another family moves in. In the past 10 years this area probably is critter free about only 2 months of every year. I do grow Narcissus, watsonias, some Glads and Morea and Irids, in this area, with some success. I would like to use the area to plant more bulbs, basically because the soil is perfect naturally for many species. Nerines taking it like a champ still in glorious bloom. No sign of any unusual out of season bloom. Of course I've only been here 10 years. My experience is a drop in the bucket in the whole scheme of things.) _______________________________________________ pbs mailing list pbs@lists.ibiblio.org http://www.pacificbulbsociety.org/list.php
