Erythrina zehyeri -germination?

Has anyone on the list successfully germinated Erythrina zehyeri (a
caudiciform plant, not a bulb, I admit)? The only directions I can find
suggest immersing the seeds in boiling water and then soaking them
overnight. I'm always a little worried about what boiling water might do
to the embryo - assume the idea is not to use such a large volume of
boiling water that the solution can't cool quickly. Anyway, if anyone has
experince with this species, I'd be grateful for more information.

Thanks,

Hi all,

Boophone disticha can be found in the winter rainfall and summer
rainfall areas of RSA as well as tropical East Africa so the
origin of a bulb is important in determining when to water.
