hi John I am now only buying snowdrops that are distinctive by their flowering time or their shape and colour. It is very true that many are too similar. There are about 6 snowdrops which are now thought to be the same snowdrop. This was discussed at last years 10 yearly conference. I also agree that if a pile of snowdrops are placed in front of a grower he/she wont be able to name them.
