TOW: Yellow flowered geophytes

Alstroemeria that I've grown:

A. aurea - a yellow-flowered selection does very well in the garden

A. kingii - graceful and delicate, but so far only in the greenhouse

in Davis, CA; hot, inland valley where alstroemeria do best in 30 %
shade or total protection from afternoon sun.
and Monte Rio, CA on the Russian River where summer temps are
moderated by proximity (7 miles) to Pacific Ocean and alstros do well
in full sun.
