Usually low to extremely low (near zero) rainfalls, but with
exceptionally heavy rains at approx 5-10 year intervals during El
Nino events.
Well, I think that explains the fast-germinating alstroemeria seeds.
They are all subtropical coastal desert species which are probably
primed to grow as soon as they sense enough moisture.Perhaps
temperature has little to do with it.
