I'd love to see some of the photos of the ice bergs! Sorry for you guys back
there tho. That must be awful going to work and coming home.

Once I actually saw a live spike of Eremurus. It was at a local hotel in the
lobby in a vase - part of their decor. W-O-W! Beautiful does not begin to
describe it.

My eremurus survived a mild winter last year but his year is going to be
the test. We have been below freezing since Christmas. Lows have been
down to 5F. The Hudson River is full of ice and has impeded some ferry
traffic to and from NY. I should get a picture and post it to the image
group. I found a nursery in the western states that grows eremurus for
the cut flower trade. I'll see if I can find it again. The dry
winters are the key I think as with many central Asian bulbs.
