Last year I bought Hyacinthoides hispanica from a well-known and highly regarded bulb supplier, my first time for this bulb. Right at the time they sprouted this list was in the middle of an excellent discussion on viruses and, when I saw the pale streaks on all of the green leaves (virtually the same as one of the pictures posted illustrating virus, though in another genus) they were dug up and trashed. My question is, are commercial stocks of the more popular Scilla and Hyacinthoides often virus infected or was this a rare occurence? I would really love to grow these lovely flowers but perhaps I need to do it from seed. Kathy Stokmanis vikingdoc@earthlink.net Why Wait? Move to EarthLink.
