Rhodophiala pictures
Matthew Gale (Tue, 01 Apr 2003 04:04:49 PST)
I noticed that the photo of R.andicola has been re-labelled Rhodophiala
brachyandrus on the IBS website. Can anyone explain why H. brachyandrus has
been moved to Rhodophiala?
Thanks,
Matthew

Hi Pascal:
Thanks for the links. The inclusion of Habranthus brachyandrus
in
Rhodophiala is incredible. Also the identification of the gorgeous white
red
speckled species as R. rhodolirion is surprising. It is generally
acknowledged as an undescribed species that grows in an Andean pass
between
Argentina and Chile that I intendedly do not mention because of "modern
day
plant explorers". It is strongly clumping and the flowers are huge for the
size of the plants. Jane, this must bring you memories of your recent
Chilean trip. It is good to see that all have a good picture of the
variety
within this fascinating genus.
Regards
Alberto
