Hi Marguerite, No, I haven't tried Homerias in the open garden. However, I know have a protected south-facing area, and wonder what sort of protection would get them through our winter? Although winter temperatures have not dropped below 0 degrees F for several years, we are nominally USDA zone 5. First freeze is usually during the first week of October and last freeze (at my house - differs with geography and elevation) around the first week of May.
