I wish more people would donate frost-hardy bulbs to our BX. I sent quite a few to the last BX and hope they found homes. However, it doesn't seem worth all the extra postage and volunteer work to exchange bulbs available at low cost through commercial catalogs (I recommend John Scheepers for reasonably fresh stock). I would caution against sharing commercial tulips, which can carry viruses that affect lilies and their relatives as well. Cyclamen tubers are always welcome, if they can be shipped at this time of year not in growth (mine are already sprouting and flowering). Cyclamen is one of the few "bulbs" that do really well close to Douglas firs. If Lesley would like to write to me privately, I'd be glad to share experiences dealing with these trees. The house I moved to about 12 years ago has several huge ones in the front, and I brought dozens of Cyclamen hederifolium from my former garden to plant there, where they flower and seed freely. Re. Muscari comosum and its section, the former Leopoldia (some botanists and growers still use that name), I've also found that they don't spread as invasively as the commonly grown M. azureum.
