A few days ago I got a note from Marlene Werra, the wife of the late Moraea King, Bob Werra. She enclosed seeds of Moraea vespertina. It flowers in spring and grows in heavy doleritic clay and is a species that flowers for only a few hours late in the day so you have to be around at that time to see the flowers. We have photos on the wiki and a note that it flowers best in the ground. I don't know how Bob grew it, but obviously his flowered this year before he died. https://pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/index.php/… Marlene suggested I might want to share the seeds. It's a little late as this is probably one of those South Africans that needs a big change in temperature from day to night to germinate that should have been started a few months ago, but if some of you are interested, email me privately at mailto:msittner@mcn.org and include your address and I'll share them.
