At least one person has had luck growing them in straight pumice https://web.archive.org/web/20130405205209/… <https://web.archive.org/web/20130405205209/…> I don’t know how available pumice is on the east coast but it’s easy to find in the Pacific Northwest. Most of us around here use it in all or most of our growing media.
