I received one of these a couple of years ago. I peeled off the wax and potted it right away. I didn't wait. After they are done, I usually put them out back and they bloom again the next year but at a different time.Carolyn Craft -----Original Message----- From: Diane Whitehead via pbs <pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net> To: Pacific Bulb Society <pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net> Cc: Diane Whitehead <ldiane.whitehead@gmail.com> Sent: Tue, Jan 18, 2022 10:38 am Subject: [pbs] a waxed amaryllis For Christmas I received an amaryllis bulb encased in silver wax. The instructions say it does not need water. It is slowly putting up leaves. After it blooms, can I peel off the wax and put the bulb in a pot? Or is it meant as a throw-away?
