Hi Laura,

I'm so impressed that you're able to grown these beauties in you climate, congratulations :) I tried so many times to grown them in the Boston area but no luck...they just rot :( How are you able to keep your beds dry in the winter without suffocating them with a heavy plastic tarp? I have so many of the same plants you grow and NO MORE SPACE for them inside that I'd love to try growing outdoors.

Thank you and Warm Regards,

Fred

Hi Jane,

I can report the following bulbs blooming now in my garden in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario:

Amarcrynum "Fred Howard", Amarines, Sternbergias, Cyclamen hederifolium , Nerine bowdenii, Hippeastrelia "Durga Pradhan", Amaryllis belladonna "Fred Howard", Oxalis bowiei, Oxalis articulata, Acis autumnalis. My crocus sativus is not up yet. Not a bulb but my Hedychiums are still in full bloom so as Alstroemerias.

Here we have cold but sunny winters most of the time. Unreliable snow cover and very hot dry and sunny summers. The soil is amended to be well draining and the beds are kept dry and well mulched during winter months.

Regards,

Laura Grant
