Hi list, for southern Germany, there is little traditional autumnal bulbs besides the native Colchicum autumnale, but, maybe due to climate change, many of the Mediterranean bulbs actually have proven hardy and floriferous: early in the season there are Acis autumnale and Prospero autumnale, later on several other colchicums and a selection of fall crocus like puringii, xanthomelas, niveus and of course banaticus. Sternbergia lutea works well, too, as does Rhodophiala bifida. This year I have an Amarine in flower, planted out for two winters before, close to a south facing wall. Another wiki species in flower now would be Spiranthes Chadd's Ford, and of course Zingiber myoga. I haven't been lucky with Lycoris, though most fought a tough battle for a few years, but no flowers - my Amaryllis belladonna also only gives leaves, at about the same place as the Amarine, and those leaves take heavy damage from harder frosts, though they show some regrowth in spring.
