Hello Brian, Very interesting what you write about the sulfur from La Palma. It is most amazing that it is not more diluted after traveling quite a distance. As for Amaryllis belladonna: I would not transplant now as they have clearly broken dormancy if leaves are showing. Best time to do so is after the leaves have died down. They will need one or two years to settle after being disturbed, the shorter the perennial roots remain out of the ground the better. I do not know why they are so shy to flower, normally they like to be crowded, so crowding may not be the reason. And anyway, they are not deep dwelling bulbs. Do they get full sun? Fertilizer? They are very greedy plants. Is there frost damage to the leaves in winter? Do they get enough water when in full leaf? All these factors may influence flowering. I would recommend looking at these factors before considering to uproot them. Bye for now Uli _______________________________________________ pbs mailing list pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net http://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/cgi-bin/… Unsubscribe: <mailto:pbs-unsubscribe@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net>
