My post on this subject lost all its text so here it is again, hopefully working this time: Most Massonias can make offsets, especially if planted out to give a free root run, though even in a pot some will too. This happens regularly for me with several species. The offsets are produced basally as in the accompanying picture of a Massonia bakeriana bulb with offsets. The same species is illustrated in growth with multiple offsets in the second picture. I don't like it when they do this as it spoils the appealing simple symmetry of a single bulb. Don't know what has happened with your 'flower within flower' Rimmer, just one of those odd things that plants sometimes do. I often have Massonias make a third leaf as yours has, but not with an extra flower too. Paul Cumbleton UK.
