Bob I think it likely they are seed grown. Division would be slow. I only bought 1 plant originally but I recall a contact sending me some seed later. ~ 3 years for first flower here. Bulbs at Kew RBG looked on a visit as though they were sprayed with oil to keep the exposed bulbs insect free. It can be a problem. Brian Brian, Do you know if the plants are self-fertile? I have several but I got them all from ETGB and I fear they could all be one clone, in which case I could cross pollinate them but would be fooling myself! Bob If I want seed "naturally pollinated" , I have to bring them into growth in late summer while there is still insects around, other wise I hand pollinate. The flower heads are tough enough to just touch (bang?) the heads together to get almost full seed set. Easy in pots, less so planted out. Mine are now under glass with ~7C min.
