 No question, they grew better after the first really dry summer rest. So the bulbs were bigger, and then I did the repotting and feeding and they are sure happy now.
I remove them from the greenhouse as soon as they start dying back a bit, before it's hot enough for the summer misters to get turned on.  The dry table is under the west end of the carport so they get brutal afternoon sun and no water at all until they begin to sprout.  Tough life, but they love it!

I think the point about a hard dry summer rest is important.
I let mine sit on the basement shelf without any moisture for the entire season.
I imagine the arid conditions they come from.
