It does look similar to G. cardinalis, but if it is that species it is a form I have not seen before. The form I have grows during the winter but flowers in spring for me in the Seattle area. The flowers are red with white markings. I’ve never seen a salmon colored form. I don’t know what kind of variability there is in wild populations, but I suspect the plant in the photo here might be a hybrid of some kind.
