Amorphophallus bulbifer

Bob,

That's a nice bulbifer!

There may unsuspected hardiness lurking in this species. I had one
survive outdoors here (NW Arkansas) for several years. That was back
when we had winters like this past one regularly (i.e., pre-2000), with
overnight temps of -10 F (-23 C) or lower. It never flowered, but it
came back and had no mulch or special care. I suspect if I'd done better
site prep it might still be there.

I've never seen vultures interested in Amorph. konjac, which is
completely hardy here. But we do see them circling the Dracunculus
vulgaris patch when those bloom, which should be in a couple of weeks.
