Hello, I recently purchased a Lilium pardalinum ssp. pitkinense from a local botanical garden. There are two main shoots in the container. I also noticed some small single leaves appearing at the base of the main shoots. My question is whether these separate leaves are from bulblets/scales and if so, when it is appropriate to divide them from the main bulb. I've read that the scales are quite delicate, so I'm hesitant to dig them up to take a look. Also, should I attempt to separate the smaller of the two main shoots into its own container? At the least, I plan to re-pot this soon as the container looks a little too small. I live in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area, Zone 9. This is my first bulb and my first post. Thanks!
