I agree with Paul. I think the pot seems like an ok size for that plant. As far as dividing, it’s certainly doable. My experience with lilies is that the roots often get quite intertwined in pots and are difficult to separate without damaging the plants, so I typically divide them when dormant. I usually repot/divide mine in the late winter or early spring just before they resume growth. That said, there’s no need to divide it right away. L. pardalinum often forms large dense clumps (especially in rich, evenly moist soil), which are very impressive when they bloom. I currently have one pushing 4’ tall with about 15 separate stems all of which will have 7-ish large flowers and it will likely top out around 6’ by then (in part sun in Edmonds, WA). Once they get to that size, it’s quite easy to remove a bulb or several from the edge of the clump (when dormant, of course) without disrupting the rest much. So if you’re not in a hurry to get multiple plants and you’ve got a good spot in the ground for it, another option could be to just plant it and wait a couple years.
