Mary Gorton via pbs 12:56 PM (8 hours ago) "They were mailed one month ago. Should they have arrived by now if they have not been received?" Mary, It is a frustrating wait, not knowing the status of your order, if and when it will arrive. When ordering seed from South Africa (using the Aphis permit) I've had to wait over two months in one instance. Tracking told me it sat within SA for several weeks before even leaving the country. Once the order left SA the tracking no longer worked. I don't know what happened to the seed order from the point it left SA, went through APHIS, and arrived at my address. I had actually given up on it and was ready to write the seller when the package arrived, so don't give up yet. Also, as an added bit of info - Some sellers, unsolicited by me, were putting my name and mailing address on the package *along with* the required green and yellow label. (The requirement is that only the green and yellow label is to be on the outside of the package, along with a copy of the permit and list of contents inside the package.) This resulted in the package(s) sometimes being sent directly to me, apparently circumventing APHIS agents altogether. I've discovered that my local post office has no idea what the green and yellow labels signify. Apparently it's the same with other post offices. Good luck, Mike Western Washington Also, thank you, Lee, for your clear, informative email to members about differing permits. Very helpful.
