Jim, Thanks for thinking of us coasties. As you mention, on top of the pandemic, we're dealing with low to no humidity, unusually high temperatures, so much smoke and ash and the constant fear, if not for ourselves, for family who've been evacuated or are about to be as several of my family and friends have been. I know most of them are ok, but don't want to stress them further by unnecessary calls. Well, living where we do, we sort of mentally prepared for possible earthquakes, but this is getting very stressful. In this narrow coastal belt where I am, we get a few very small fires most years but the North Bank Fire is, for us, not small and it's right on my normal route to the county dump, a few miles away. Nor are firefighters seeing it well enough to really fight it or put up air support. California is so much worse, and though we've lost at least five small towns here in Oregon, it's nothing compared to our southern neighbors. Just keep up the normal plant chatter. There are times we really need the distractions!
