hi Val: It's probably a younger bulb. Most of what I have are the larger hardier species and hybrids of Colchicums. There is much confusion about the naming of these. I just read there is a new book out on Colchicums. Unfortunately if I were to buy another bulb book I'd have to move into the garage.
