It seems like we have this discussion every few years as some people are more happy with forums like the wonderful one from the Scottish Rock Garden. Some people like Facebook and some people prefer our format. It seems to me that having choices is a good thing. This list has been going since 2002 and has attracted people who prefer to communicate through email. There are a lot of possibilities already on Facebook it seems for those people who want to communicate that way. One advantage that we have thanks to David Pilling is a searchable archive so you can find information from the past. Some of us even spent hours transferring earlier posts from the days before ibiblio so those would be available as well. https://pacificbulbsociety.org/list.php/#Archive I do not have a Facebook account, but sometimes I've been sent links to Facebook pages that allow visitors and I often can't find the post that they referred me to, especially if it is a day or so later. I find that very frustrating. Images are possible on our list but you do have to be able to add an attachment to an email. I like that I can choose to click on the link to the attachment or not and see it very quickly without it arriving with my email. There are probably some advantages to having large groups of people as you have more sources of information. But there are also advantages to having smaller groups as it is possible to become more of a community.
