I just watched the Rod and Rachel Saunders segment on BBC Gardener’s World Episode 7 on Brit Box. It focused on their work with gladiola species and showed a few species in the wild. The ecklonii featured was really gorgeous. The segment ended with “In memory of Rod and Rachel Saunders” but no other mention was made of their tragic death. I found it rather jarring to suddenly pop back to Monty doing his thing at Longmeadow. If you’re in the US and want to watch you can always sign up for the seven day free Brit Box trial. I have a feeling Brit Box has fixed it so you can’t watch on You Tube.
