Don, In my experience, both the berries and the seed on species Clivia (other than miniata), are generally smaller than miniata berries and seed, unless they've been crossed with miniata in which the miniata is the berry plant and the specie is the pollen donor plant. The reverse cross produces smaller seed. The berries on the species also tend to be rounder in shape than the berries on miniata; the miniata berries tending to be more elongated in shape. Of course, just when we think we've got things figured out, Nature seems to take glee in refuting our observations. I don't think the smaller seeds should be reason for concern. They should produce normal, healthy plants, that is unless they are on the ridiculously small side. The above is based on nothing more than my own, amateur observations and experience with breeding and growing Clivia. Best of luck, Mike On Wed, Jan 29, 2020 at 10:49 AM D.
