Rhubarb and leeks

I guess there are advantages to living in such a cold environment. We beat
rhubarb back with a stick here. Some summers it doesn't go dormant at all
as there is just not enough heat. Last summer we harvested rhubarb the
entire season and it kept on growing. Life without rhubarb? I have a
freezer full of it.
I'm not sure what type I have as I got it from someone who was digging out a
patch that had been put in by the previous owners of the house he had just
purchased. They had lived there for 60 years. I do know it's hardy as hell
because I still have a piece of it surviving in a pot. It also shows how
insulating and protective good snow cover is.
I'll have to try leeks and see how they do, I thought they were a warmer
climate veggie.

It's a balmy -33C here this morning and it's supposed to get colder. Yay!
