Wow. I have quite a number of his Narcissus that I’ve ordered over the years, some of which are still blooming or about to bloom. Although I never met him in person, we once many years ago did a joint order of Narcissus and some other bulbs from Australia (I think from Will Ashburner) because he recognized several old warm-climate heirloom varieties among Will’s list that he hadn’t be able to find here in the States. He was a very nice person even over the Internet. How sad that he passed at such a relatively young age. Does anyone know if his employees will be able to continue running his nursery? --Lee Poulsen Pasadena, California, USA - USDA Zone 10a Latitude 34°N, Altitude 1150 ft/350 m > On Feb 21, 2020, at 9:07 AM, michaelcmace@gmail.com wrote: > > I heard this week that Bill Welch, AKA Bill the Bulb Baron, passed away at > the end of 2019. > https://pacificgardenschapel.com/tribute/details/… > Welch/obituary.html > > > _______________________________________________ pbs mailing list pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net http://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/cgi-bin/…
