The bulb in the attached photos volunteered at the edge of our driveway in very hard-packed dry clay in full sun. I wondered if it might be Hyacinthoides hispanica or H. x massartiana, but it blooms about 10-14 days earlier, has darker flowers than the bluebells that I have planted elsewhere in the garden. The prostrate, starfish-like foliage is also different, but I suppose that could just be an effect of growing in full sun. Any guesses? Is it a bluebell?
