This is inspired by Uli's comments on Pancratium in pots. I too am shocked at how hot pots in the sun can become. (Here in Israel the summer radiation is high). Some techniques I use are: 1) Keep the pots close together so they shade / screen each other. 2) I put a board along the sun-facing row so the sunlight simply does not hit the pots. 3) Plant a "ground cover" with the bulbs that will hang over and cover the outer side of the pots. I like to use trailing succulents. 4) I put pots in among plants in the garden. A great way to showcase growing plants and change off with dormant plants. 5) Sink pots in the ground or mulch. A great way is pots in pots. Any other ideas are greatly appreciated.
