Hi Sarah, I am in western New Jersey. My greenhouse is heated to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Sunlight is better in summer (when shade cloth goes on) that in winter. I agree that lachenalia are a good choice. Would also suggest freesia, for good looks and delicious fragrance. Also rhodophiala, bloom in autumn. Cyclamen hederifolium and C. persicum. Look in supermarkets, even, for small persicum cultivars sold around Christmas. And various Oxalis. Have fun! Judy in New Jersey where winter is especially soggy.
