Hello Andrew and Uli. Here in Jerusalem (Zone 9) Pancratium maritimum grows great outdoors in beds of fairly heavy soil (terra rosa - parent material is limestone!) with good drainage, of course. The bulbs are huge (5 or 6 inch diameter) with the neck exposed, as I would grow a Hippeastrum. It is a winter grower and dormant in summer, so I cannot imagine being successful in the house for without a lot of sun and without cool nights. They get light frost (-1 or -2) and even a snow cover once or twice a winter. They are, of course, naturally a beach plant and no frost on their native Israeli beaches. All this info is from a bed I have observed My own plants are tiny seedlings (from Portugal ;). I would think they would do well in a tub, and leave them in the unheated greenhouse. I would think also that one could grow them like Drimia (Urginea) maritima - another giant Israeli bulb, if that helps you at all. Good luck.
