Jim, You might need to feed your Boophone more. I have several in the ground here in Berkeley and, with good light and rich soil, they bloom almost every year. If your bulb is producing 2 flower stems then it might have split (in which case 2 leaf fans will emerge). ________________________________ From: pbs <pbs-bounces@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net> on behalf of Jim Foster <fosterjp@cox.net> Sent: Sunday, May 6, 2018 7:34 AM To: pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net Subject: [pbs] Boophone disticha I have one in the ground here in Santa Barbara. Last year it did not bloom. This year it has 2 flowering stalks. Is this uncommon? One is in flower and the other is just emerging. It should be interesting to watch this and see how the seed heads accommodate one another. I'll post a picture when things get a little further along. I have 3 others in pots which flower sporadically. I have never figured out what it takes to get them to flower on a regular basis. I also have a Brunsvigia josephinae in the ground that must be 6-7 inches in diameter that has never flowered. It does produce an impressive set of leaves.
