I'm going to attempt to start some R. nobile/R. alexandrae if I'm able to pick some up in the NARGS/SRGC/AGS seed exchanges this winter; here's what I've been able to find about growing them: http://www.srgc.net/forum/index.php?topic=7883.0 http://growingontheedge.net/viewtopic.php?p=56928 R. nobile sounds pretty temperamental, needing cool summers, constant moisture and sharp drainage. I'll attempt to grow it on steep rocky slopes above our year-round cold spring, or at the mouth of our cave...or just stick to R. alexandrae. -joe z6/z7 border, 1580'-1760', karst, Rye Cove VA.
