Dear Friends, I have extolled the virtues of this South African bulb for years after receiving seeds from the late Marcelle Sheppard's Crinum Garden. Her plants came direct from the late Les Hannibal. This bulb has been hardy in Kansas City MO (Zone 5/6) for decades with NO extra care (with some need to establish young plants). NO CARE. It takes temps to -20 F in winter and over 100 F in summer, drought and flooding rains. It blooms every year. Yet Crinums remain somewhat ‘lost’ as tender S. African delicate beau ties. I have donated hundreds of seeds to PBS to the extant that they have exceeded demands. But that doesn’t stop me. I’d gladly donate a pound of large seed to the PBS Seed Ex if there is a demand. Seed germinates very rapidly so need immediate distribution. If there is demand let Arnold know and I’ll send him seeds. If only a handful are interested, I’ll send individual seeds for return postage (US ONLY). After growing ‘Jumbo’ for years I now grow about a dozen other species and cvs equally easiy and hardy. What have you got to loose? Best Jim W.
