You do not mention which particular Pyrolirion you are growing. I grow Pyrolirion arvense. These are not bulbs which like moisture, coming from a dry area. I grow them, even the smallest bulblets, in a mix of 1/2 pumice. 1/2 fine soil mix (in my case seed-raising mix which can also be used as potting mix) and some slow release fertiliser, in a container in full sun. This is in New Zealand where the sun is probably not as hot as in the tropics. They are ever green. So should I let the soil dry a bit more? Maybe they are getting to much water. The thing is I prefer they develop the bulb. Also, since when I have to start to apply fertilizer on them? Being an environmentalist I rather use organic ones, so probably seaweed extract of some of the sort.
