You will have much greater success from seed. It's easy to sprout and grow. If you can find any seed now, you can still plant it this winter. I suggest you read the book mentioned before, and do some thinking and planning. Few Calochortus grow well with summer rain, and your winters are too cold for most of them to grow outdoors.
