Hi Jim, I couldn't agree with you more. Last year I planted c. Super Ellen and expected it to die like the countless other crinums I planted over the years. To my extreme delight not only did it survive, but threw up two blooming spikes. The first one wasn't that strong but the second one was about three feet and was covered in 20 beautiful fragrant purplish blooms. I just finished weeding around it and plant on giving it a good mulch for the winter and hope for the best.
