I grow both the amaryllis belladonna and lycoris not sure of the name got both from my mil years ago. The lycoris is blooming right now and it has the bright red flower and no leaves. I
Am in the sierra foothills about 900 ft or less my mil grew them both in Sutter Creek ca in the sierra foothills. I still have some straggling amaryllis growing. I also grow hippeastrums . I am also in the lower sierra foothills.

Dear PBS era,

After our posts about the differences between the two genera, I am
curious if there is any location where a person could actually grow BOTH
Lycoris and Amarylllis in te same garden location outdoors in the ground.

    Does such a place exist?

        Thanks Jim W.
