Jim, The European Flora mentions "might be slightly tessellated" but not used as a main identifying feature. It's the real deal. I think I got mine from Brent and Becky's. Do a google search for "European Flora Colchicum cilicicum" and see the google.books result if you don't own a copy. It gives a detailed description, I can verify that mine is true to name.
