Hi List, As I mentioned in my introduction, Tigridia Vanhouttei is my first bulb grown from seed - and one of them actually flowers like now, in it's second year from seed - I'm totally in love with the rich detail on the admittedly small flowers, and love the rapid succession of flowers - today I've got Nr 7 in only 9 days on a single plant. And I love how clean they wither - no comparison to the slimy mess of a T. Pavonia on a rainy day. Picture of yesterdays double : http://www.planetoblivion.de/img/tig_van_2.JPG Now, the more I read the Tigridia Wiki Entry, the more I'm confused with the texts: is T. Vanhouttei the smelly one, or do you mean T. Ehrenbergii smells worse? I'm no native speaker, so that may cause the confusion. As for my T. Vanhouttei, the smell is faint - just enough to let a few flies notice, but e.g. far less notably then on my Eucomis Bicolor. So, maybe someone who has smelled more Tigridias could tell me if I was just lucky with my T. Vanhouttei or if I missed the real stinker... Greets from southern Germany Martin
