Hi Ralph,

Where are you? I just planted a C. 'Ellen Bosanquet' this spring in the open garden and it has put out some real strong growth, I'm hoping it will survive our winter and come back next year.

Warm Regards,

I planted one large bulb around 15 years ago. It has grown into a large clump of bulbs some three or four feet across. It is in garden soil, neutral loam over clay, in a shady spot and moist for this garden, which is very dry. The necks of the bulbs are above the soil surface. It is growing through a large patch of geranium which presumably provides some winter protection. Went through hard winter of 2010/11 with no trouble.
