Hi, A sunny but cold day in England, I ventured out into the garden with my camera. There is some yellow now, eranthis hyemalis (winter aconite), iris danfordiae and crocus chrysanthus, as well as lots of white snowdrops (galanthus nivalis). When I finished I looked at the photos on the camera's screen, set to "highlight" mode, also known as "the blinkies", because anything over exposed flashes. All the snowdrop flowers flashed. That makes the photos useless, the white will appear to be blurred, lacking detail. The fix is to change the "exposure compensation" setting, reducing it to -1 ev or even less. Which I did, and went back out. This happens to me every year, I take loads of snowdrop photos, which turn out to be rubbish. -- David Pilling http://www.davidpilling.com/
