According to Webster (American), "Geophyte: a perennial plant that bears its perennating buds below the surface of the soil." This eliminates several of my Hippeastrums. With regard to systemics, Azaguard has 3.00% azadirachtin as the active ingredient and is also labeled for nematodes but not for arachnids. I suspect all systemics affect bees depending on application period but recommendations for Azaguard application call for two applications a week or two apart, suggesting a short half-life.
